Getting started

How do I book pet sitting?

Register in our client portal and add your pet's details, then book in our app. You can also email info@poshps.com or call or text (973) 464-8894. If you have a regular schedule, we can set up automatic visit bookings for you.

Can we meet our sitter beforehand?

Yes. We offer a complimentary Meet and Greet for all new clients and their pets. It's a chance to show us your home and your pets' routines, make sure your sitter is a great fit, and ask any questions about our services and policies.

How much notice do you need?

New clients: Please give us a few days' notice so we can arrange your Meet and Greet.

Returning clients: Please give at least 24 hours' notice so we can coordinate with your sitter. Same-day or last-minute requests may include an urgent booking fee.

Holiday dates fill up fast, so book those as early as you can.

Will we have the same sitter each time?

Our goal is to assign you the same primary sitter for every visit, so you and your pets can build a strong, consistent relationship. If your regular sitter is unavailable, we'll provide a trusted backup sitter, and you'll have the chance to meet them beforehand. We will never cancel a confirmed sitting assignment at the last minute.

What areas do you serve?

We provide in-home pet sitting, dog walking and drop-in visits across Northeast Florida, including Fleming Island, Orange Park, Green Cove Springs, Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee and St. Augustine. Not sure if you're in our area? Call or text us and we'll let you know.

Hours and scheduling

What are your service and office hours?

Visits: Daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, plus 12-hour and 14-hour overnight stays in your home.

Office: Live customer service 7 days a week, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, for calls, schedule requests and changes. Outside those hours, we'll do our best to respond promptly to texts, calls and emails.

Can I choose an exact time for visits?

We do our best to honor specific times, but we can't guarantee exact arrival times. Visits are scheduled within these time blocks:

  • Morning: 7:00 – 8:30 AM
  • Mid-morning: 8:30 – 9:45 AM
  • Late morning: 9:45 – 11:00 AM
  • Midday: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Afternoon: 1:00 – 3:00 PM
  • Late afternoon: 3:00 – 5:00 PM
  • Early evening: 5:00 – 7:00 PM
  • Mid evening: 7:00 – 8:30 PM
  • Late evening: 8:30 – 10:00 PM

What time do overnight stays start?

Overnight stays are 12 or 14 hours and start during the mid evening (7:00 – 8:30 PM) or late evening (8:30 – 10:00 PM) time block.

Your pet's care

What kinds of pets do you care for?

We care for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes and breeds. Have a different kind of pet? Call or text us and we'll let you know how we can help.

Can you give my pet medication or insulin shots?

Yes. We give medications exactly as you direct, including pills, liquids, topical treatments, insulin shots and other injections. Many of our caregivers have healthcare backgrounds, so your pet is in experienced, caring hands.

Do you care for puppies, senior pets or pets with special needs?

Yes. We love caring for puppies, senior pets and pets with special needs, including pets who need medication, insulin or extra help getting around. Puppies and seniors often do best with more frequent visits, so we'll recommend a schedule that fits your pet at your free Meet and Greet.

What happens if there's a pet emergency?

If your pet is sick or hurt, we contact you right away and get your pet to your veterinarian, or the nearest emergency vet if yours is closed. Our sitters are American Red Cross Pet CPR & First Aid certified and trained in Disaster Preparedness for Pet-Care Professionals, and a backup sitter is always on standby, so your pet's care is never interrupted.

What if the weather is bad during a walk?

Your pet's safety always comes first. During storms, lightning or extreme Florida heat, we shorten the walk or swap it for indoor play and a quick potty break, and we always let you know in your visit report.

Safety and trust

Are your sitters background-checked and insured?

Yes. Every sitter goes through a comprehensive background check, including local, state and federal criminal checks, and all of our sitters are insured and bonded.

How are your sitters trained?

  • Every sitter completes thorough training, including shadowing experienced pet sitters.
  • Many of our caregivers have healthcare backgrounds, so medications, insulin and injections are given with care.
  • Sitters follow a required guide that covers situations that may come up, so they're ready for the unexpected.
  • Our team is American Red Cross Pet CPR & First Aid certified and certified in Disaster Preparedness for Pet-Care Professionals, and we are proud members of NAPPS (National Association of Professional Pet Sitters) and PSI (Pet Sitters International).
  • A secondary sitter is always on standby in case of an emergency.

Will I get updates during visits?

Yes. Every visit includes 2–3 photo updates, GPS tracking, a sitter timer and a final report, sent to your email, pet portal and app.

How do you access my home?

You can give us a door code or garage code. If you don't have an access code, pet parents are responsible for storing a key in a safe space on the property, such as a lockbox. Your codes and details are kept private and shared only with your sitter.

Payment and tips

How do invoicing and payment work?

Do you accept tips?
